T-Shirt & Hoodie Sewing Quality: What a High Quality Sewing Techniques Manufacturer Can Deliver | OEM Knitwear Factory

Fabric Handling for Knitwear: The Starting Point

T-shirt and hoodie quality depends heavily on how we handle knit fabric. Knit fabric stretches and curls easily. This makes it harder to cut and sew than woven materials. Our factory uses fabric relaxation before cutting. We unroll the fabric and let it rest for 24 hours. This step cuts shrinkage after washing by about 50%. Then we spread the fabric on cutting tables with controlled tension. Too much tension causes panels to shrink back after cutting.

Our cutting machines handle ribbing, jersey, French terry, and fleece. We adjust blade speed for each fabric type. This prevents ragged edges on soft materials. For hoodies with multiple fabric types, we cut each component separately. The body may use 320gsm fleece, while the hood lining uses 220gsm jersey. We track all cut parts with lot numbers. This keeps the production flow smooth. Brands from the Netherlands and France often request organic cotton or recycled polyester blends. Our factory sources these fabrics and manages the entire supply chain. We offer full knit fabric customization with low MOQ from 50 pieces per style.

Seam Types That Define Knitwear Quality

Seam choice makes a real difference in knitwear comfort and durability. Our factory uses three main seam types for T-shirts and hoodies. Coverstitch handles bottom hems and sleeve hems. It creates two parallel lines on top with a looping thread underneath. This seam stretches well without breaking. Flatlock stitch joins side seams on premium T-shirts. The seam lies completely flat against the skin. Lab tests show flatlock seams cut friction by up to 40% compared to overlock seams. This makes a big difference for activewear and everyday comfort.

For hoodies, we reinforce shoulder seams with taping. This prevents stretching and keeps the shape after many washes. Neck binding on T-shirts uses a separate strip of rib fabric. We apply it with 10% to 15% stretch for a smooth curve. Too little stretch creates a wavy neckline. Too much makes it tight and uncomfortable. Our sewing team adjusts this setting for every fabric type. Apparel manufacturing uses about 30 stitch types and about 300 types of seams. We select the right combination for each product. Our factory can produce standard overlock, coverstitch, flatlock, or any custom seam your design needs.

Quality Checks During and After Sewing

Quality control does not wait until the end. We inspect during production too. In-line QC happens at three points on our knitwear line. First, after shoulder joining. Second, after neck binding. Third, after hemming. Each checkpoint catches defects early. This cuts rework time by about 35% compared to end-of-line inspection alone. Common knitwear defects include skipped stitches, uneven hems, and twisted seams. Our QC team uses a checklist with 18 inspection points per garment.

After sewing, every T-shirt and hoodie goes through thread trimming and pressing. Loose threads inside garments can annoy customers. We trim all visible threads. Then the garment moves to final measurement. We check chest width, body length, and sleeve length against the approved spec. The tolerance is ±1 cm for body measurements. For neck width, tolerance is tighter at ±0.5 cm. Our factory has over 14 years of knitwear production experience. We know how to maintain consistent sizing across thousands of pieces.

ASAHI・LINK Third-Party QC and Global Shipping

Every order undergoes independent inspection before shipping. ASAHI・LINK inspectors use AQL 2.5 standards. They pull random samples from the production lot. Each garment goes through a visual check, measurement verification, and function test. This includes checking print adhesion for screen-printed designs. Inspectors also run rub tests for colorfastness. A report with photos goes to our client within 48 hours of inspection.

Once the goods pass QC, our logistics team handles packing and shipping. We use poly bags for individual pieces and export cartons for bulk packing. Cartons are labeled with style numbers, sizes, and quantities. We ship to the USA, Canada, Europe, and Australia via sea freight or air freight. Shipping time is about 18 to 25 days by sea to Los Angeles. To Rotterdam, it takes about 22 to 30 days. Our factory provides FOB and CIF terms. We track every shipment and share updates with clients. With low MOQ and fast sample turnaround, our OEM and ODM knitwear services help brands launch faster. Contact us to discuss your T-shirt and hoodie project.
